Dissecting meaning structures of the social world has always been the domain of interpretive methodologies such as ethnography, grounded theory, or hermeneutics. However, researchers within social sciences and humanities are now increasingly relying on computational methods to study complex social and cultural phenomena.

 

The workshop is organized to allow ethnographers (and qualitative researchers), on the one side, and  agent-based computational social scientists (and simulation scientists), on the other, to establish a common ground for the development of an ethnographic agent-based modeling (ethno-ABM) methodology.
